If I say, “An apple is better than mango”, then it doesn’t means that mango should be banned! Similarly, it’s always a touch chore when have to make a choice in between two tangibles when they featured from the same house. That’s right! Samsung’s newly envisioned Rex-series mobile handsets have hit the market to cater the thirst of the low-range market. However, talking about the two new siblings in the Samsung family, Rex 70 and Rex 80, it has been no time since they were launched and now they have started to compete amongst themselves. Even though both the handsets share almost similar functionality and come with a number of freebies for the users but, it’s not going to be so easy to opt either one. Let’s check out the how’s and why’s!
Talking about Samsung Rex 70 S3802 is quite interesting in a sort. The handset braves 3.0 inch full touch screen with amazing dual-sim support functionality allowing you to have a complete hold over your work and play facade. Taking care of all your multimedia content, the phone can have hold of a memory up to massive 32 Gigabytes with its external flash support slot. Plus, it flaunts 2 Megapixels snapper at its rear end which empowers you to have a hold of great captures every time. The social networking applications like Facebook and twitter keep you updated about the world around you. Whereas, Samsung Rex 80 S5222R just a glimpse of slight updated version of the Rex 70.
Time to make out more about these two cousins;
Design and Built:
Both the new cousins, Rex 70 and Rex 80 of the Samsung family brave 3-inch capacitive full touch screen and Java interface along with other featured specifications. However, talking about the design, both the handsets have a common make up form, that is, candybar whilst their dimensions vary on a slight scale. Rex 70 measures about 4.13 x 2.25 x 0.47 inches, whereas Rex 80 stands up to 4.02 x 2.28 x 0.46 inches. So, it’s no thorn in the comparison quotient.
Advantage: With a slight difference in the body make up, it’s quite inevitable to gauge a differentiating factor. Hence, it’s a tie as of now!
Operating system and Display
Both handsets features 3.0 inches full touch screen at equivalent resolution of 240 x 320 pixels with TFT technology. Now, the only hairline difference between the two is the touch type. Rex 70 features a normal touch whilst Rex 80 boasts capacitive touch.
Advantage: The hairline difference between the two in context with the touch type could be a thorn but certainly not the USP after all! So, it’s a tie.
Rex 70 flaunts 2 Megapixels snapper at its rear whereas, Rex 80 seemed topping the chart with its 3.2 Megapixels. It could stand out as one of the differentiating factors and could be a cutting remark too.
Advantage: No doubt, 3.2 Megapixels shows up in a better way. So, Rex 80 makes up for the advantage whilst Rex 70 has to compensate a bit.
Battery bank is same in both the handsets. Two of them house 1000 mAh battery which is quite promising in terms of backup and doesn’t yell for frequent recharging.
Alright! Everything is good with both the cousins and having a hairline difference is quite understood. But what makes a big difference is the price! In a market like India where pricing matters a lot, Samsung Rex 70 price in India stands quite transparent and affordable of course.
Whereas, talking about the Samsung Rex 80 price in India; available at a competing price but the specifications and features seemly compliments the price tag.
However, both the handsets are listed with India’s leading online shopping website naaptol.com at price of, Rs. 4,255 (Rex 70) and Rs. 4,579 (Rex 80) respectively.
Advantage: Both the class siblings have a competing price tag which would not break the banks and promises outstanding value to the money. So, if Rex 70 is better, Rex 80 is also good.
